Laternenmastenhülle Nr 9

...wie gesagt, muss die Nr 9 natürlich in Linz sein!

heute kurz vor 9.00 Uhr...

Hülle, (in den Linz 09 Farben, selbstverständlich), Häkelnadel und Kamera...

auf zum lentos, eines meiner Lieblingsmuseen!

Passanten:

eine Nonne, die mir freundlich zulächelte

2 Jogger (kurzer Blick)

3 große Hunde, einer davon sehr interessiert und

1 Hausmeister!

(auf alle Fälle jemand von der Gebäudeverwaltung, erkennbar an der hausmeisterblauen Jacke und dem strengen Blick)

Dialog:

Er: Was machen sie da? (sehr streng)

Ich: ...ein Woll-Graffiti. (oje ich hab Graffiti gesagt...)

Er: WAS machen sie da?

Ich: ...ein Woll-Graffiti, es wird nichts beschädigt, es ist eine weiche, schöne Hülle aus Wolle.

Er: Kommt das eh wieder weg?

Ich: Eigentlich sollte es eine Weile draufbleiben.

Das ist mein Geschenk für linz09.

Er: Ah, gehört das zu linz09?

Ich: (hätte da ja einfach nur JA sagen können, aber so wie er das gemeint hat, wärs eine Lüge gewesen - das mag ich nicht, lügen.) Na ja, das ist Aktionskunst...

Er: Und ist das mit den Chefs vom lentos eh abgesprochen?

Ich: (etwas leiser, aber sehr nett) Das ist Aktionskunst, die ist eher nicht abgesprochen...

Er: Aha!

dreht sich um und geht weg...

Ich denk mir, hoffentlich holt er jetzt keine Schere und wo bleibt eigentlich der Fotograf von der Zeitung?

Albert hat inzwischen fotografiert, aber leider nicht den Hausmeister drauf... also noch ein paar Fotos und dann adios...

Ich wünsch mir, dass die Hülle bitte bitte nicht heruntergeschnitten wird!

It's a yarnbombing special this week, with news of a new exhibition in Manchester celebrating all things crafty and handmade, including a selection of knit-graffiti. Plus, an update of Jenny Chant's appeal and Lacey Jane Roberts' public displays of handknit artworks...
Yarnbombing
The art of the knit graffiti has been arond for some time, with legendary groups like Knitta, and the Dutch Knitted Landscape taking it to new heights.

Now Yarnbombing is taking over the world!

For those who haven't come across it before, Yarnbombing involves taking a piece of knitting to a favourite location, a place of significance or just a random street and leaving it attached to buildings, signs, bike racks, trees...anything! These little bits of yarny art are a bright light in a sometimes dreary place and can reflect their surroundings or just cheer you up on the way to work!
UKDIY exhibition, 14th February to 26th April
There are already a number of Yarnbombers and graffiti knitters here in the UK. In London the elusive Klickety-Klick team have been keeping bits of the capital cosy for a few years now, and the UK:DIY Craft team are putting on an exhibition at the Turnpike Gallery in Leigh, Greater Manchester which will include a selection of photos from UK Yarnbombers plus the exlcusive UK premiere of Faythe Levine's film, Handmade Nation.
You can get your own handiwork shown by submitting images of your knit graffiti to the new Flickr photo gallery. Get your needles out, dive into your stash and start decorating your hometown with a bit of woolly art.
